Food Restrictions, Limitations and Allergies

Fish Allergy   Previous - Next

Reactions to fish.

Finned fish like salmon, tuna, or halibut, and many others, contain specific proteins (different from those in shellfish), which can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive people. These range from itching, hives, and skin rashes to a true state of anaphylaxis, which can be fatal if not treated on an emergency basis with an ephedrine pen or quick hospital treatment.
